One of the most important things you can do for yourself if you believe you are experiencing anxiety is to talk to your doctor. Anxiety is not a simple health condition to diagnose. A doctor cannot simply test a sample of your DNA to determine if you are experiencing an anxiety disorder. Instead, a physical examination is required to ensure there are no physical explanations behind your feelings of worry, fear, and stress. After the physical examination is done, a mental health professional will need to observe your thoughts, behaviors, and ideas in order to determine whether or not you are experiencing anxiety or if there is another reason you feel the way you do.

Knowing what to expect when you seek help for your feelings of anxiety can make the process a little less intimidating, granting you the confidence you will need to make sure you can voice all the questions and concerns you have.
