Introduction

Let’s face it: we have all experienced those feelings of worry, fear, and nervousness at one point or another. Maybe you were told to give a speech in front of your entire class. Perhaps you had a critical test coming up that you did not feel as confident about as you would like. Or, maybe you have found yourself facing one of your greatest fears. These feelings are entirely normal. As a matter of fact, anxiety, stress, and worry are critical to our survival as a species.
How? Well, our feelings of anxiety and worry are triggered by stress within our bodies. This natural response was developed to alert us to moments we are in danger so we can protect ourselves!

For the most part, we can figure out just what is causing us to feel worried, stressed, or anxious. However, those who experience an anxiety disorder may be experiencing these feelings without an easy explanation. They may even find that these feelings are beginning to impede on their ability to live their lives to the fullest.
