Grief is the mind’s response to loss, trauma, or disaster. It is a difficult, complicated, and emotional response to bereavement or loss. It is a private, personal experience that might also be expressed in a open, shared way. For some, it might take a long time to come to terms with a loss. Sadness and mourning are not the only emotions one faces when grieving. Physical and emotional pain could be profound and might occur immediately, or happen much later, possibly even as a response to an unrelated situation.
